Become a Rugby World Cup England 2015 Volunteer!
Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2015 takes place in 10 host cities in England plus Cardiff from September 18 to October 31, 2015.
England 2015 is looking for 6,000 exceptional volunteers to help stage RWC 2015 and make this a truly great tournament.
As part of the Volunteer Programme England 2015 want to recognise the Rugby community who volunteer to support the Game week in, week out.
England 2015 also wants to invite new potential players, volunteers and spectators to the Game, and promote legacy and involvement in the sport after RWC 2015 has finished.
Given the strength and depth of volunteering in the Rugby community it is important to recognise the contribution of existing volunteers by ensuring that 75% of the 6,000 roles go to them.
The Volunteer Programme is designed to reward the abundance of hard work at Rugby grassroots level. In this spirit, every County Schools Union in England will be offered at least six schools volunteer places at RWC 2015. You could be one of them!
We are looking for volunteers who are ready to roll their sleeves up, get stuck in and potentially get wet!
Volunteering at RWC 2015 will be different to what many rugby volunteers are used to. It won’t be the same as the role you might currently perform at your school, but it will be the experience of a lifetime and something to tell the grandchildren about.
You will be the face of the RWC 2015, welcoming the world to England and to Rugby. Everyone is invited.
The application period will begin on March 17, 2014 and remain open for one month.
Get in touch with Andrew Wilesmith on [email protected] to find out how you could volunteer at RWC 2015 or click on the link below to download the application form and apply online.

Farlingaye take Premiership crown in U18s
The U18 10s is an RFU initiative supported by Suffolk Schools Rugby Union to encourage more 6th forms and colleges to play rugby in a social and informal environment. Delivered by the Suffolk CRC Matthew Short and supported by SSRU it aims to pitch teams at the right level to ensure good and level competition.
In the final round Farlingaye had to come from behind in their two games but fought to win the Suffolk Schools Premiership U18 10s competition. The first game saw West Suffolk College record a convincing win against the tough Northgate, with their backs and pace the difference between the two teams. West Suffolk College ran in 6 tries to win 36-0.
The second game saw West Suffolk College take on Farlingaye, who had beaten them in the previous tournament a couple of months ago. It was West Suffolk who cam flying out in the first half as some strong rucking and good ball movement saw them take a 14-0 lead. Farlingaye then started to wake up and they looked a threat every time the ball went wide. They eventually scored with a line break to finish in the corner. A second try soon after on the other side saw West Suffolk go in 14-12 up. The second half saw Farlingaye take control of the game as the speed of the wingers and quick passing stretched the West Suffolk back line. Farlingaye scored two quick tries and converted them to go up 26-14 and as the game continued Farlingaye kept pressing. They eventually went over twice more to record a 38-14 win.
The final game meant Farlingaye needed to win or draw to take the title. It was Northgate who started the stronger as they scored a converted try in the first 20 seconds as an intercepted pass was taken over the line. Northgate dominated proceedings upfront and their scrum was causing Farlingaye problems. The Northgate forwards continued their strong rucking and mauling to peg Farlingaye back in their own 22 and it paid off as they went over the line again to score. Only then did Farlingaye spark into life and some good passing out wide saw their speedy wingers pick up the ball and score two 50 metre tries. With both converted Farlingaye went in 14-12 up but realised they were in a match. A close second half saw Northgate dominate in the forwards and Farlingaye dominate in the backs. Some good defence from Farlingaye stopped two likely tries from Northgate. A good piece of play by Farlingaye in their own 22 saw a line break that resulted in a break away try to put Farlingaye 19-12 up. The missed conversion in front of the posts, however left the door open for Northgate. Northgate continued to press and some tough tackling and superb defence brought Farlingaye home to a 19-12 victory.

Bungay top of the pile in U12 Northern Area
The final Northern area rugby competition of the year ran on a warm sunny day at Woodbridge RFC. A closely fought contest between four teams saw Bungay and Hartismere battle it out in the first game. With chances going to both sides none were able to convert in what was a tight affair with the game finishing 0-0. The second game between Thomas Mills and Alde Valley saw Alde Valley battle hard with some promising breaks and strong rucking. It was Thomas Mills though with their pace and poaching that took advantage of the space out wide as they scored three quick tries to win 15-0. Bungay continued their good run as they beat Thomas Mills 10-0 and following on from that Hartismere showed fantastic ball movement to beat Alde Valley 15-0 including a wonder try near the end. Thomas Mills then played Hartismere for what would make a big impact on who would qualify for the Suffolk Schools County Cup. Hartismere's pace and strength in defence proved too much for Thomas Mills as they ran out 20-0 winners. The final game saw Bungay High School demonstrate a masterclass in rugby against Alde Valley, who themselves played incredibly well and were unlucky not to score at least a try. Bungay went on to win 30-0 and take the title on points difference against Hartismere who finished 2nd. Both teams now go on to represent the area at the Suffolk Schools County Cup final, with Thomas Mills and Alde Valley going to the Suffolk Schools County Shield final.
